Outstanding Education:
WGL Celebrates Two Successful Graduates

The Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) has once again recognized WGL’s training program—and both trainees are launching their professional careers at the company. Two Strong Financial Results and Yet Another Award

The Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) has recognized WGL for its successful apprenticeship program. Marlene Porschen and Ruth Pivnev completed their apprenticeships this year with particularly good results—and will remain with WGL even after graduation.

Successfully trained and hired

Marlene Porschen completed her apprenticeship as an office management assistant, and Ruth Pivnev completed her apprenticeship as a architectural draftsman. Both were mentored by their instructors, Daniel Lehmann and Michael Stüber.

Today, the two graduates are joining the WGL team: Marlene Porschen works in the technical back office, and Ruth Pivnev works as a drafting technician in the new construction and modernization departments. By hiring them, WGL is opening up long-term career prospects for them while also securing a pool of qualified young talent for important roles in Leverkusen.

Training with a Lasting Impact

This latest honor builds on a previous achievement: Two years ago, WGL received an award from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry after Johanna Merten completed her apprenticeship as a real estate agent with exceptional results.

This repeated recognition underscores the importance WGL places on training. As an attractive employer, WGL invests in young talent, takes responsibility for the future, and creates reliable career prospects. At the same time, through its high-quality training programs and sustainable employment opportunities, it makes an important contribution to securing a skilled workforce and strengthening Leverkusen as a business hub.
